Mordril Properties Limited has evolved from nearly a century of international business success. Its parent organisation, the Kishinchand Chellaram Group (KC Group), began its activities in 1916 when its founder Shri Kishinchand Chellaram (1880–1951) launched a small retail textile business in Chennai, India. Just two years later the company opened its doors to its first overseas office in Yokohama, Japan, spearheading a series of international trading depots throughout Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and the Gambia. The KC Group grew to become one of the leading trading houses in West Africa, Europe, and Asia, with over 50 branches across four continents.

Under the chairmanship of Lokumal K. Chellaram, the group diversified into dry-bulk shipping in 1980 with its flagship company KC Maritime. Just over a decade later, Mordril Properties Limited was established in the United Kingdom to bring a real estate division to the group where it quickly expanded its presence.

Following a corporate restructuring of the KC Group in 1999, Mordril Properties was reconstituted under the chairmanship of Sham L. Chellaram to consolidate its real estate activities. It soon shifted its headquarters to Hong Kong in order to capitalise on its decades-long presence in the region and understanding of the local climate. In 2010 the KC Group expanded further into the offshore marine logistics sector with the formation of Chellsea Limited in Singapore, which specialises in the management of platform supply vessels.

Almost a century since the group’s founder served his first customer, his passion for professionalism and perseverance have endured as core values of Mordril Properties.
